&pizza Delights DC Pizza Devotees in Brookland
The secret’s out about Brookland. As interest in this burgeoning community in NW Washington, DC continues to rise, more and more restaurants, boutiques, and arts-centric small businesses find themselves relocating in or expanding in Brookland.
This means that newly arrived and longtime residents of the area continue to gain entertainment and dining options right outside their doors rather than trekking across the city, and one of the most eagerly anticipated “fast casual” dining options has finally opened their doors in the heart of the neighborhood – &pizza.
&pizza has completely exploded onto the DC dining landscape over the past year, and with 10(!) new locations planned over 2014 and 2015, residents of Virginia, Maryland, and visitors to Dulles and Reagan National airports can look forward to noming some seriously gourmet ‘za across the region.
There’s a lot to love about &pizza besides their signature pies, fresh salads, desserts, housemade sodas, and vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options. Their dedication to local communities is a cornerstone of the company’s mission. Their website proudly declares their purpose: “to create new and unique experiences around people, place, and pizza; connecting a taste of the future with a feel for the familiar.”
&pizza also strives to improve the communities surrounding each location to maintain that mom-and-pop feel through AndCharity. Their “buy one, feed one” initiative ensures that every pizza gives back to a local charity in the DC area, and they encourage diners to let them know about causes they care about so they can be added to the AndCharity agenda.
Residents of Monroe Street Market can now enjoy &pizza’s newest location at 1400 K St NW, which is open for lunch, dinner, and even late-night pizza diners, only a few blocks away from the White House. This location’s interior is inspired by the nearby landmark, boasting a huge mural of JFK inside the carefully designed eatery.
It’s easy to follow the &pizza experience online as well. Check out their very active Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram profiles to discover daily specials, local events, and new locations across the DMV region.
