Shop Locally Made Gifts at the Heurich House Museum’s Christkindlmarkt
Still in need of holiday gifts? Make Christkindlmarkt at the Heurich House Museum a stop as you shop this season, especially if you prefer to buy goods from local makers instead of mass-produced items. This special shopping event has celebrated local makers since 1894! Each December, the Heurich House Museum, located at 1307 New Hampshire Avenue NW in DC, curates a three-day holiday market in its garden. After a year off in 2020 due to the pandemic, Christkindlmarkt is back for an in-person event. Inspired by German Christmas markets, the market hosts more than 25 local vendors, composed of local craftspeople and artisans.
This year, visit the museum from Friday, December 3 through Sunday December 5 to stroll through its festive German-style market. Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. General admission tickets begin at $13 for adults and $2 for children. Upgrade your adult ticket to the $19 General Admission + Holiday Cheer to include one alcoholic beverage in your experience!
